Fortunately, a deficiency in Vitamin B12 is rare, as the body has mechanisms to recycle the vitamin it has already absorbed, further diminishing the likelihood of a deficiency.

However, certain groups, such as young children and strict vegetarians, might face challenges in obtaining adequate Vitamin B12. Young children, particularly those who are picky eaters, may not consume enough diverse foods to get sufficient Vitamin B12. It is crucial for children to have a varied diet to ensure they receive all necessary nutrients, not just Vitamin B12. For those following vegetarian or vegan diets, supplemental Vitamin B12 may be necessary since plant-based foods do not contain this essential nutrient.
